The
Kerry Hill is a handsome breed with its upright ears and distinctive
markings. It originates from the Kerry Hills surrounding the small village of Kerry, near Newton
Montgomeryshire and produces a dense fleece with soft, fine wool. It is
a hardy, healthy sheep with
an excellent mothering ability and good strong lambs. At home on the
hill the Kerry Hill adapts well to the lowlands. The breed is classified as
‘Traditional’ by the RBST. The main society sale is
held at Ludlow market on the 1st Saturday
in September.
